For The Interested
I subscribe to dozens of high quality newsletters, as a way to stay up to date and be inspired. In recent months, the one that I spend most time reading (not just the newsletter, but the articles it links to) has been For the Interested. It’s a weekly newsletter with actionable ideas to help you become better at your work, art and life. Highly recommended.

Lunacy | Sketch for Windows
If you’ve been envying your Mac-toting friends of their ability to use Sketch, which is arguably the best prototyping tool for web site and app design, then envy them no more - the free tool Lunacy has come to your rescue. It’s compatible with, and quite similar to, Sketch, although maybe not quite as polished.

Relgrowth | Free Keyword Rank Checker built in Google Sheets
Completely free tool to track up to thousands of keywords directly in a Google Sheets spreadsheet.

LeapIN | Start and run your micro business in Estonia
LeapIN is a turn-key solution to set up a company in Estonia with a bank account. They handle incorporation, ongoing accounting needs, and annual taxes and compliance, for a pretty low price (starting at EUR 49 per month). This is based on Estonia’s e-Residency solution, and gives you a presence within the EU. You’ll need to visit for a proper bank account but can get incorporated and started without a visit using e.g. a Transferwise account to receive money.

Trustboostr | Increase conversions using social proof
Lets you show notifications of, for example, other users purchasing your product, to build social proof. Seems pretty slick. Starts at $99/year or $17/month.
|
Contentfly | Hire a full-time writer for $250/month.
If you’d prefer to pay a flat rate per month rather than a per-word cost for a writer to help with your content needs, then Contentfly may be the productized service for you.

DataCircle | Buy, sell or exchange data sets easily
This is kind of interesting and may be useful for some. It’s a marketplace of various types of data sets, some free, some paid. Many are mostly useful for machine learning training, but others can help you more immediately, for example investor lists, a marketing plan, lists of tools and more.
|
Calligraphr | Transform handwriting or calligraphy into a font
Designers out there, or anyone who just wants their own weird font, will probably find this useful. Free for one font at a time, then $8/month.

3 x EBITDA To 13 x EBITDA In Just 2.5 Years - Built To Sell
I liked this episode, and the “cockroach startup” concept that it describes. It’s an interview with Jeffrey Feldberg and Stephen Wells, who founded Embanet to help colleges take learning online, and sold it for $200M within 7 years of founding.

Delightfully unconventional women-written newsletters in marketing & tech
This is an interesting list of newsletters in marketing and tech that happen to be written by women. Good stuff here. One that I’d add is Heather R. Morgan’s newsletter at Salesfolk, which covers best practices in outbound sales via email.

Remember to Recycle – 8 Ways to Repurpose Your Old Content
Many subscribers are doing content marketing. A key to getting more out of the content you create is to recycle it in various ways, e.g. create a video from a blog post, make an infographic from it later, etc. Here’s an article on 8 ways to do this.

Summer is here in the northern hemisphere, even up near the Arctic Circle, where I’m sitting, and everything is green. I love watching things grow, be they plants in the sun or startups basking in the devotion of their founders and team. I hope some of the tools and articles from this issue help your startup grow! Cheers, Jói
P.S. This newsletter is made possible in part by my main project CrankWheel, which is a screen sharing solution for inside sales and telesales teams. We have a free-for-life plan that you can use solo or in a team, check it out and tell your friends!
